कभी कभी लगता है कि ओटीटी वालों को भी फिल्मवालों की तरह अपना एक संगठन बनाकर वेब सीरीज की रिलीज इस तरह से तय करनी चाहिए कि दर्शक के पास एकदम से बहुत कुछ देखने को न हो जाए। असुर, स्पेशल ऑप्स, शी, स्टेट ऑफ सीज ये सब ऐसी सीरीज हैं जिन्हें लेकर भारतीय दर्शकों में काफी उत्सुकता रही है। और, सब एक के बाद एक साथ रिलीज हो गईं। आज बात जी5 की सीरीज स्टेट ऑफ सीज की जिसे निर्देशित किया है किताबों को परदे पर उतारने में महारत रखने वाले अमेरिकी निर्देशक मैथ्यू लियूटविलर ने।

कोंटिलो पिक्चर्स की बनाई इस सीरीज की खासियत है इसका हकीकत के बिल्कुल करीब रहते हुए पूरे हादसे को फिल्मी होने से बचाए रखना। वरिष्ठ पत्रकार संदीप उन्नीथन की कहानी को परदे पर उतारने के दौरान बतौर सलाहकार इसकी निर्माण टीम ने नेशनल सेक्योरिटी गार्ड्स के उन्हीं कर्नल सेन की सेवाएं ली हैं जो मुंबई पर हुए आतंकी हमले को निष्प्रभावी करने के लिए चलाए गए ऑपरेशन ब्लैक टॉरनेडो का भी हिस्सा थे।

स्टेट ऑफ सीज एक टाइमलाइन के हिसाब से चलती वेब सीरीज है। स्पेशल ऑप्स अगर आपने देख ली है तो उसमें एक दृश्य है जहां हिम्मत सिंह मुंबई पर समुद्र के रास्ते आतंकी हमले की सूचना देश के आकाओं को देता है और वे पार्टी में मस्ती करते रहते हैं। स्टेट ऑफ सीज की कहानी तकरीबन उसी समय शुरू होती है और बताती है कि कैसे देश में सुरक्षा के लिए अपने जान दांव पर लगाने वालों के पास सुरक्षा उपकरणों की बेहद कमी है। उनको ताने भी सुनने पड़ते हैं कि आखिर उन्होंने किया ही क्या है? उधर, मुंबई की धरती पर आतंकवादी कदम रख देते हैं।

26 नवंबर 2008 को हुए मुंबई आतंकी हमलों पर बनी ये सीरीज सिर्फ हमलों का शिकार हुए मुंबई की सारी जगहों के हालात दिखाने की कोशिश करती है। ताज होटल, नरीमन हाउस छत्रपति शिवाजी, कामा हॉस्पिटल और लियोपोल्ड कैफे सब संदीप उन्नीथन की किताब के हिसाब से परदे पर पन्ने दर पन्ने आते रहते हैं। इन सब पर बहुत कुछ लिखा, बताया और बनाया जा चुका है। लेकिन, तारीफ करनी होगी इसके निर्देशक मैथ्यू लियूटविलर की जिन्होंने इसके रोमांच और इसकी संवेदना को इसके बावजूद कहीं कम नहीं होने दिया। अजमल कसाब पर बना एपीसोड खास तौर से उनके लिए लिटमस टेस्ट का काम करता है।

स्टार इंडिया ने अपने ओटीटी के लिए नीरज पांडे की वेब सीरीज स्पेशल ऑप्स को करीब 77 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनाया है। उतना पैसा तो जी5 ने यहां नहीं खर्च किया परंतु कमांडोज को मुंबई लाने के लिए हकीकत में जो एयरफोर्स का कार्गो विमान इस्तेमाल में लाया गया था, उसे सीरीज में दिखाने की सोचना भी बड़ा काम है। जी5 भी धीरे धीरे नेटफ्लिक्स, प्राइम वीडियो और हॉटस्टार की टक्कर में आ रहा है। बजट के मामले में न सही, कंटेंट और मेकिंग के मामले में तो वह तीनों के कंधे तक पहुंच ही आया है।

स्टेट ऑफ सीज सीरीज तीन मजबूत अभिनेताओं के कंधे पर टिकी है। सिनेमा में हाशिये पर रहकर भी अपना कौशल दिखा देने वाले अर्जन बाजवा को यहां अपने भीतर के कलाकार को पूरा विस्तार देने का बढ़िया मौका मिला है। अर्जुन बिजलानी और विवेक दहिया भी प्रभावित करते हैं। लेकिन, सबसे ज्यादा चौंकाते हैं आतंकियों के आका के रूप में अभिनेता मुकुल देव।

सीरीज को चूंकि ज्यादा फिल्मी होने से बचाना था लिहाजा इसके निर्देशक ने कोशिश करके इसे अधिकतर प्राकृतिक परिस्थितियों में ही शूट किया है। इसके चलते कुछ दृश्य धुंधले दिखेंगे, स्मार्ट टीवी पर नहीं देख रहे हैं तो कुछ दृश्य नहीं भी समझ आ सकते हैं, लेकिन इसके बावजूद ये सीरीज एक बार देखना शुरू करने पर आखिर तक इसे देखने के लिए दर्शक को मजबूर करती है।
